Urban Lullaby

Dear listener, welcome to “Urban Lullaby”. A sound art piece that I created to offer you a moment of tranquility amidst the chaos of city life. As someone who is neurodivergent, I have often felt overwhelmed by the relentless noise of London. Walking in Nine Elms river walk area, the sounds of construction, traffic, conversations, and passing bicycles inspired me to create this work.

In “Urban Lullaby,” I have included ambient sounds recorded from the Nine Elms area, just where you are standing right now. These environmental noises highlights the contrast between the city’s chaos and hopefully, the calming elements of my music.

The piano melodies are composed to bring you peace and serenity. Each note is an invitation to pause, breathe, and ground yourself. My humming, layered in harmonious loops, adds a soothing, lullaby-like quality to the piece, making the music feel personal and comforting. If you are standing here with friends, loved ones, or by yourself, take a moment to just breathe and listen. You deserve a few minutes of calm.

I created this sound art to help others who, like me, are sensitive to noise. By saving this piece on your phone, carry a little pocket of calm with you, open it whenever you need a break from the city’s noise. Whether you use it to ease anxiety, aid in meditation, or help you sleep, know that you are not alone. A few others who scanned this barcode might also be listening to this, including me.

This work also aims to foster a sense of connection and create a space for our community to breathe and find solace. I invite you to find stillness amid the noise, to breathe deeply with these gentle, repetitive loops and layered harmonies.
